Meet Jess
Jess Skolnick, CFA, CFP®
Owner + Financial Planner
After over a decade managing investments for financial advisors and their clients, I started Mindi Financial in 2026 to put everything I learned about investments and financial planning to work with my own clients.
I am originally from Brooklyn, NY and lived most of my life in the city until the pandemic shifted my priorities and changed my definition of success from earning more money to enjoying the outdoors, connecting with my community, and spending more time with my dogs. I became a full time remote worker and moved to a town in the Hudson Valley called Beacon where a lot of other people had the same idea.
I work with clients locally and nationwide who have also made the choice to prioritize their quality of life and who want their money to enable them to live their best life, whatever that looks like.

Why "Mindi"?
A lot of financial advisory firms are named after their founders, places of business or natural features, and a surprising amount are named after nautical terms. There aren't many named after grandmas, which is a shame.
Mindi is named after my late grandma. The original Mindi (Mindy actually) started over in her 50s, moving to a studio apartment by Grand Central and experiencing everything the city had to offer. As long as she was independent and could do what she wanted, she was happy. She believed in fairness and honesty, could be stubborn, had an opinion about everything, and didn't like being told what to do - an energy that would resonate with many of my clients. She had a huge impact on who I turned out to be and, by extension, the philosophy of this business.
